Stirchley House Extra Care Services is welcoming the local community on 3rd December for a special ‘Jingle and Mingle’ Christmas Event, from 11am to 2pm at Grange Avenue, Telford.

Hosted in partnership by Radis Community Care, Preferred Homes Limited (PHL), and Pinnacle, the event will offer visitors a chance to learn more about the holistic approach to independent living and care that the Extra Care service provides.

Attendees can expect a real-life reindeer, a visit from Santa, singing performances, a raffle, craft stalls, and a festive lunch. Guests can also celebrate Elf Day and enjoy the Christmas spirit with music, crafts, and treats.

The day also promises a line-up that includes free health checks, including blood pressure and glucose checks, and free advice and support around health concerns.

Beyond the festivities, the event aims to raise awareness of the care and support available at Stirchley House, particularly for those who might be struggling to live independently at home and may benefit from a personalised care package or are considering moving to an Extra Care service.

Stirchley House, which opened earlier this year, offers 66 one-bedroom and six two-bedroom apartments, each designed for people aged 55 and over who want to live independently with access to tailored care and support. The scheme delivers 24/7 on-site care and promotes wellbeing through social interaction, community connection, and independence.

Sarah Brown, Regional Manager at Radis Community Care, said: “Events like this bring the community together and show the heart of what providing care is all about.

Our team is proud to provide care that makes a real difference every day.”

Diane Emmison, Operations Manager for Preferred Homes noted: “We are so excited to be getting into the Christmas spirit at Stirchley House and opening our doors for the community to join us.

“With a real-life reindeer, children from Chipmunks Nursery and the local church’s Gospel choir lined up it promises to be a magical event.

“We encourage anyone who might be considering the need for some extra care and support to come along, enjoy the event and take a tour of what’s on offer at Stirchley House.”

This open day marks another step in the partnership’s commitment to promoting high-quality, affordable housing and person-centred care in Telford. The event also offers a chance for visitors to meet the Radis Community Care team, learn about the services available, and discover how Extra Care can support independence, safety, and well-being for people later in life.
