Radis Community Care is proud to announce the launch of its care partnership at Fern Meadows, a brand-new Extra Care Living scheme in Faringdon. Care services officially begun in October.

Fern Meadows is Housing 21’s fifth Extra Care scheme in Oxfordshire and offers 60 stylish one- and two-bedroom apartments, available for rent or shared ownership, for people aged 55 and over. The development has been thoughtfully designed to promote independence while providing access to flexible, on-site care and support from Radis Community Care.

Located on Brickell Way, Fern Meadows is an all-electric, low-carbon development close to local amenities including supermarkets, medical practices, and fitness centres. The scheme also boasts a range of communal facilities including a spacious residents’ lounge, activity room, café/bistro, hair salon, and beautifully landscaped communal gardens. These facilities will be available not only to residents, but also to the wider community.

Rachel Brooks-O’Dell, Regional Manager at Radis Community Care, said: “We are excited to be delivering care services at Fern Meadows, and working with the wider community to bring people together.

“Our team and on-site care staff create bespoke plans tailored to each individual, ensuring they receive the help and support they need.”

A spokesperson for Housing 21, speaking at the recent open day, added: “Fern Meadows is a fantastic example of how Extra Care can empower older people to live independently, with the reassurance of support when needed.

“We’re proud in bringing this much-needed scheme to Faringdon and to see such enthusiasm from the local community.

“The open day was a wonderful celebration of what Fern Meadows has to offer, and we look forward to welcoming our new residents.”

Together, Radis Community Care and Housing 21 are committed to enabling people to live well in later life, delivering high-quality, responsive care within modern, supportive homes where independence and dignity are at the core.
