Working together with
Gloucestershire County Council

Radis has been working with Gloucestershire County Council for over 12 years supporting older people and people with disabilities and long term health conditions to remain safe and well in their own homes through our Visiting Care Services.

Working together to support hundreds of people to live independently

Helping people to return home from hospital sooner

A partnership spanning more than 12 years

“This work with Gloucestershire County Council demonstrates Radis’ longstanding ethos of partnership working with key local authorities, to help support people to live independently and safely in their own homes, rather than in long term care. We hope to develop and strengthen our partnership in future years. We see Gloucestershire County Council as a key partner for Radis, and Gloucestershire as a key county to invest in and develop our social care services – including more broadly across the different type of services we provide.”

Together we have supported many hundreds of people over the years primarily in the Gloucester city, Forest of Dean and Tewksbury districts including rural parts of the county where sourcing care is often challenging; and have stepped in to help the Council when demand has been particularly high.

In 2018, Radis worked in partnership with the Council, to establish a new Hospital to Home service, operating countywide.

The service helps to ensure that people who are ready to be discharged from hospital can come home with the support they need to get back on their feet, including overnight care where this is needed.

Offering these services helps people to come out of hospital sooner, safe in the knowledge that they have the personal and practical support they need to regain their independence, and at reduced risk of repeat injury and re-admission.

We also help unpaid carers within the county. Our tailored support for family carers means that they can have some respite; whether that is for a few hours whilst they have a break, or for up to 48 hours in an emergency, with the reassurance that their loved one is in good hands, still being supported with their care needs.

Radis employs a large workforce within the county, and a large proportion of staff have extremely long service. One team member has been part of our team since Radis acquired County Home Care Services Ltd in April 2008, showing a real dedication and commitment to their local community.
