Nurse-led Care service receives highly commended honour at national awards

Radis Community Care’s celebrates recognition at Stars of Social Care

Radis Community Care is celebrating after it’s Nurse-led Care service received a Highly Commended accolade at the Stars of Social Care Awards.

Having been shortlisted in the Complex Care at Home category, Radis Community Care’s Clinical Services Team attended the awards evening on 13th June 2026.

Lorna Regan, Head of Clinical Services said of this achievement:

“We’re thrilled to have been awarded the Highly Commended accolade, and it’s a testament to the dedication, compassion and expertise delivered by our clinical team on a daily basis.

“We’re delighted with the result and had a wonderful evening celebrating the stars of social care.”

This achievement follows the success of the service transforming the lives of individuals with complex care requirements, including one particularly remarkable case.

Following a life-changing stroke at just 56 years old, Darren required round-the-clock care. And although the Radis team knew this wouldn’t be on a long-term basis, it became their priority to help Darren regain his confidence and independence.

Living with a neurological injury, a PEG feeding tube, tracheostomy and ongoing rehabilitation, the clinical team at Radis developed a tailored plan focused on risk management and long-term independence.

As a result of the support and care providing through Radis’ Nurse-led Care service, Darren’s PEG has now been removed and his care package has significantly reduced from a 24 hour support to just 28.5 hours per week, with plans for this to reduce further in the next 12 months.

“Not only do we support those living with complex clinical needs, but we act promptly, reducing hospital admissions whilst providing care in a person-centered approach based upon proactive monitoring, rather than constant supervision – and Darren is just one example of that,” continued Lorna.

The Stars of Social Care Awards celebrate the home care and care home sectors, shining a light on the stars of social care.

Now in its fourth year, the awards celebrate excellence, recognising the effort and commitment of those in the workforce across two evenings at the Leonardo Royal London St Paul’s.
