Radis Community Care, a leading provider of community-based social care is opening a bespoke and purpose built Supported Living Service in Boston, featuring the latest assistive technology.

The four bed property, Allington Gardens, is offering a safe and secure home for individuals with disabilities who wish to live independently but still receive the care and support they need.

Due to open later next month, Allington Gardens is designed specifically for its four tenants, fitted with the latest assistive technology from UKTPS including, the Advent XT2 digitally grouped living system and secure access with DDA certification. From start to finish, individuals living at the service have been able to personalise their home, from the colours of the walls to the furnishings.

Hannah Cooper, referrals and assessment officer for Radis said: “My involvement from the beginning has been to really get to know the individuals moving into the service, to allow us to put the right care and support in place for them.

“During the smooth transitional work, regular meetings with the individuals and their families, enabled us to fully understand their needs and preferences and conduct a quality service assessment. This also provided the opportunity for the new tenants and their families to ask us questions about the property, alongside the care and support that will be provided. We want them to put their own stamp on this property, and therefore be involved as much as possible in the process.

“I really feel this is going to be a lovely home and that they will flourish within supported living. I’m looking forward to being a part of their progress.”

Supported living schemes present individuals with learning and physical difficulties, autism and/or mental health problems with the confidence to overcome barriers and take their first steps into independent living. Radis ensures that each person is treated on an individual basis and that their care is tailored to suit their needs.
