This week marks Glad to Care Week, a special time to celebrate the incredible dedication and compassion of care staff everywhere. Radis Community Care is proud to join in by sharing some of the heartfelt reasons why team members are glad to care, and why they love what they do every day.

Sasha Murray, Service Manager at Heald Farm Court Extra Care Service, explains that she’s glad to care because she enjoys building connections with the people they support and being a familiar, trusted face in their lives. It’s these meaningful relationships that form the heart of care for many of our team members.

Barbara Beames, Activities Coordinator at Edwards Court, says that she loves seeing people smile and hearing their laughter, and that those moments always make her feel good. Tim Hogan, a Support Worker also at Heald Farm, shares that his caring nature and enjoyment of interacting with people drives him to make a real difference in their lives.

For Carol Hudson, Support Worker at Edwards Court, caring is about ensuring people feel happy, safe, loved, and important. She also appreciates the simple pleasures, like sharing a good natter and a cup of tea in the morning – little moments that help start the day on the right foot. Meanwhile, Sarah Burnett, Team Leader at Edwards Court, finds the role rewarding because she gets to know each person she cares for, aiming to make a positive impact and make their lives a little easier.

At Radis Community Care, Glad to Care Week is more than just a celebration. It’s an opportunity to recognise and thank all the incredible people who bring kindness, commitment, and warmth to their work every day.

There’s never been a better time to get started in a career in care. Not only is it incredibly rewarding, but it also offers a real sense of purpose, strong team support and the chance to build meaningful relationships every day.

Whether you’re just beginning your journey or looking for a role in a values-driven organisation, Radis could be the perfect place. Please visit the Careers section of the website to find out more about joining the team.
