Reading was the location of Radis’ first branch, established in 2001 and we still have five members of staff from the original team.

From this base, we support people across Reading, Woodley, Wokingham, Winnersh, Lower Earley, Tilehurst and surrounding areas to remain independent and well in their own homes.

Supporting people referred to us by Reading Borough Council, West Berkshire Council, as well as private individuals, we help people with a range of needs including frail older people and those with physical and learning disabilities, dementia, mental health problems and other support needs. We also support adults and children with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders and other associated needs, as well as nursing care in this area.

Our care workers pride themselves on helping people to remain as independent and well as possible in their own homes by providing the support that they need with everyday tasks such as preparing meals, cleaning and laundry, personal care and getting dressed, taking medication at the right times and support getting out and about.

“As Branch Manager, my focus will be on giving the team the support they need to provide the best possible services to our existing clients, as well as broadening our services to support even more people to lead the lives they choose.”

“I wish to thank everybody involved in the wonderful care of my aunt. I am so grateful to you all and think her carers are the salt of the earth. It gives me comfort that although I live overseas I know she couldn’t be in better hands.”

“I cannot thank you all from branch staff to care staff for the care that has been provided to my parents. When they became poorly Radis branch staff increased the package of care immediately and the care staff was amazing, they looked after my parents to the best of their ability.”

“They don't rush me; they support me to be as independent as possible. I will chat things through with my main carer, it is always confidential, and I feel at ease with them, we have a really nice relationship.”

“Radis have been my carers in excess of 10 years and in that time I have come to look on them as extended family. The girls are always cheerful and I enjoy the banter and I feel safe in their care. My family and I rely on them enormously and I know that it gives my wife peace of mind to know that I am well cared for. The manager and office staff are unfailingly helpful and we have a good rapport/relationship with them. They will always try to help if we need extra care or make changes, if at all possible. I/we have no hesitation in recommending Radis in Welshpool to other families and we look forward to many more years of their care.”

“Thank you so much for the most amazing, wonderful and caring service you and your team have provided for my mum, especially since she has recently come out of hospital. Constantly checking on her when she came out, you’ve taken a huge weight off my mind – what an amazing service! I would happily recommend Radis Community Care.”
