Celebrating 20 years of care and support

By | NEWS

We are celebrating across the country this month as we pass 20 years in business!

We are proud that our award-winning, family-owned company started off as a small local provider of visiting care services primarily for older people. Thanks to a strong vision and strong set of values, it has since grown to become a leading provider of care across many regions of England and Wales, supporting people of all ages and with a wide spectrum of needs in many different community settings including Extra Care housing schemes and Supported Living services.

To mark the occasion, our team have organised a series of events and activities, including delivering random acts of kindness to colleagues and hosting a special lunch for a number of the team who have been with the company since day one.

Reflecting on the anniversary celebrations and the 20 year journey, Radis founders Sam and Deepesh Patel said:

“Over the last 20 years, our team has regularly gone above and beyond to make sure they consistently deliver care to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

We’ve seen staff walk for miles through snow, take boats through floods and over the last year, throughout the pandemic, do whatever it takes to make sure our clients are getting the care they rely on daily.

We are so proud of our team and of the kind, caring company they have helped to build.”

Regional care team celebrate over 100 years of service

By | NEWS

A team of Radis care workers were celebrating this month after discovering that between them, they have amassed over 100 years of service.

The team of seven Managers and Care Workers have worked for the company, providing care and support in the home across Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire for decades.  Sara Haigh, Kim Rause, Kathy Illsley, Tracy Lowe, Claire Hall, Charlotte Hunter and Lisa Crane have all worked for Radis for at least eight years.

Lisa Crane has worked with Radis for 16 years, starting as a Care Worker in 2005 and working her way up to Registered Manager of Clarence Park Village in Malvern and she’s also the Support Manager for the area.  She told us:

‘When I first started at Radis, I had no idea I would still be with the same company all these years later.  I love my job; my team and I are delivering vital care and support both in the community and here at Clarence Park.  We get so much satisfaction from knowing that we’re making a difference to people’s lives every day.’

Sara Haigh has been a Support Worker with Radis for 14 years and works alongside Lisa at Clarence Park, she told us:

‘100 years is a long time and it’s testament to how much I love my job and the company.  Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to support many clients who are over 100, so to have collectively reached that milestone makes me really proud.  The job is perfect for me because I’m making a difference in my community but I’m able to fit my working hours around my children.’

In their time working together, the team have walked for miles through snow to reach some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.  They’ve been supported by the emergency services to reach clients by boat in the floods and of course battled through the coronavirus pandemic.

Lisa added:

‘We all love what we do but we are also a really tight knit team – of course we support our clients, but we also support each other to make sure we’re always delivering top quality care.  Here’s to the next 100 years!’

Radis Community Care Founder, Deepesh Patel said:

‘Radis is 20 years old this year and some of our Care Workers have been with us since the very beginning.  The team working across Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire always go above and beyond to ensure that our clients are well looked after.  To have 100 years of service between them is very impressive and goes to show the power of great teamwork!’

Radis kicks off 20 year anniversary with 20 random acts of kindness

By | NEWS

We have kicked off the celebration of our 20th anniversary by spreading kindness across our team of dedicated Care Workers.

Throughout the rest of this year, we will be picking staff at random from our 3,000 strong workforce and delivering a variety of gifts in recognition of their hard work and dedication.

Joanne Wilson, Service Manager at Beacon Park Village was one of the first to receive a gift and said: “When I opened the package I was shocked and didn’t expect it, but it did make me feel that I was in the company’s thoughts. It was a nice feeling knowing you’re not just a number and you are appreciated.”

Deepesh Patel, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Radis commented: “I’m incredibly proud of all our team here at Radis, who give so much of themselves to ensure others are well-cared for.

“Over the last 20 years, our team has regularly gone above and beyond to make sure they consistently deliver care to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

“We’ve seen staff walk for miles through snow, take boats through floods and over the last year, throughout the pandemic, do whatever it takes to make sure our clients are getting the care they rely on daily.

“We are so proud of our team and of the kind, caring company they have helped to build.”

We are proud to have announced our acquisition of our supported living agency Lucy Glyn Support Services Ltd to provide specialist care and support in Warwickshire.

Lucy Glynn currently provides support to 15 individuals with Complex Care needs, including those living with Autism.

Support Workers from Radis support tenants to lead the lives they choose, for example to access education, training, volunteering and jobs, pursue their hobbies and interests and learn daily living skills.

Deepesh Patel, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Radis commented: “This is another exciting milestone in the development of our supported living services as we continue on our road to diversifying our services and offering a range of community-based care and support services to a wider clientele with a broader spectrum of needs.”

The announcement comes after our recent acquisition of Bradford-based Focus Care Services last month.

Funding advice for Radis clients

By | NEWS

We are delighted to announce that we have joined forces with 3Q Financial to help our clients access advice about funding their care.

For people whose personal savings and investments mean that they aren’t eligible to have their care funded by their Local Authority, choosing how to pay for the support that they need is an important decision.

There are a number of ways that people can fund the cost such as from personal income, savings or investments, from an annuity or equity release.

Now, anyone considering equity release as a payment option for Radis services can be referred to 3Q Financial (who are registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), for a free consultation.

Equity release is the name given to a range of products aimed at people aged over 55 who want to access the money tied up in the value of their home but wish to continue to live there.

Andrew Myall, Mortgage and Wealth Protection Consultant for 3Q Financial said: “Some people may be wary of equity release however, regulations and equity release products have moved on from the ones that got a bad reputation back in the 1990s. Equity release is now highly regulated and there are options which allow people to access the equity in their homes without relinquishing ownership of the property. However, it is still really important that anyone thinking about this option carefully considers their existing financial situation and long-term goals before committing to this plan.

“Our aim is to provide people with independent advice so that they are empowered to make an informed decision about the funding option that is right for them.”

Liz Lewis, Service Development Director for Radis Community Care added: “We understand that for anyone who has to pay for their own care, making a decision about how to fund it is really fundamental and can also feel like a huge barrier to overcome. We hope that by working alongside 3Q Financial we can offer potential clients a source of useful advice and information to support them through this process and enable them to go on to access the care and support that they need to make a positive difference to their lives.”
